Andron for Women by Jovan c1981

Andron for Women by Jovan: launched in 1981.

Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a floral chypre fragrance for women. A combination of jasmine, tuberose, orange blossom and black narcissus with the scent signaling pheromone, Androstenol.
  • Top notes: aldehydes, citrus oils, peach, gardenia, spice note
  • Middle notes: lily of the valley, jasmine, tuberose, rose, orris, carnation, ylang ylang, orange blossom, black narcissus
  • Base notes: Andron, musk, patchouli, vetiver, sandalwood, amber, leather, vanilla

It starts off with an aldehydic top, followed by a sweet floral heart, resting on a sensual, powdery, balsamic base. It also made use of a synthesized alpha androstenol. The company claimed that the cost of synthesis makes Andron the most expensive ingredient ever used in perfumery.

Fate of the Fragrance:

Discontinued, date unknown.

  1. This was the best perfume I’ve ever owned. I received compliments from strangers, both men and women.
